Shakshuka Starter: 8.5/10
This shakshuka starter kit is amazing and the perfect brunch item to cook up on the weekends! And, it’s #whole30 approved 👏🏻 #shakshuka is a middle eastern dish that is a stew of tomatoes, tomato paste, peppers, and spices. I cooked the sauce in a cast iron skillet (any pan will work just fine), made two pockets in the thick tomato stew, cracked in the eggs, covered and cooked until the eggs were over easy. When #traderjoes was creating this product, they debated for a long time whether or not to have it include eggs or have the customer add their own eggs. I am SO glad they decided to let us add our own fresh eggs 😂 It is $1.99 which is a steal compared to popular #brunch places serving shakshuka. I’m going back for more!
