Trader Joe’s Channa Masala Reviews

Channa Masala 8.5/10

I love Trader Joe’s Indian selection, and this Channa Masala did not disappoint. It has great clean ingredients like chickpeas, onions, tomatoes, and lots of delicious spices and herbs. (I wish they didn’t put in canola oil though!). It’s a wonderful vegetarian option with a creamy and rich masala sauce that is to die for. I paired my Channa Masala with some garlic naan for a quick and delicious dinner. This would also make for an amazing work lunch meal! I will continue buying this when I want a switch up from my usual Chicken Tikka Masala. Each package is $2.29.

Have you tried it yet? What do you think?

  1. So…I’m Indian and I’ll share my opinion here. 🙂 their naan is really good. Their palak paneer is really good. Their samosas are really good. I get those in every trip! I dont buy the chana masala because it is soooo easy to make. Eatingwell magazine published my recipe in 2015 and you can find it on their website. Search for “chhole chickpea curry”. When you combine chickpeas and rice, it becomes a perfect protein with all of the essential amino acids. Thank you for sharing all of your finds!!

  2. Trader Joe’s frozen Indian food is amazing! Have you tried the Lamb Vindaloo or the veggie samosas?! I love them. I’m a huge fan of Indian food and have eaten some amazing and some truly awful Indian cuisine. For being mass produced and frozen, TJs Indian food is top tier..
