Trader Joe’s Stroopwafel Cake Baking Mix Reviews

Stroopwafel Cake Baking Mix: 7.5/10

🚨NEW ITEM🚨 I’m a big fan of stroopwafel and always glad to see #traderjoes double down on popular flavors/items. This baking mix is a cutely packaged mix that easily makes a stroopwafel flavored cake. The mix calls for water, butter, and eggs and makes a delicious batter that smells just like caramel. There are bits of Stroopwafel that are mixed into the batter as well and some that you save to top the cake. I would’ve liked to see even more stroopwafel pieces mixed in because I loved the added crunch and caramel waffle flavor. I would say this mix tastes more like a bread than a cake and I wish it was more dense and moist. A caramel frosting would make this cake even better! It would make a great gift for neighbors or teachers with a festive giftcard attached! It’s $4.49 for this mix.

Have you tried it yet? What’s your favorite holiday baked good?

  1. I made this tonight – first of all, so glad I caught @_sarah_moran_’s comment because it was the perfect amount of time 👌🏼 I also opted out of setting any of the cookie aside and just mixed it all together entirely. I think it made a difference with the flavor and crunch!

  2. I feel like this butchers an already vast amount of great Dutch holiday pastries. I know my Oma is rolling in her grave or saying “why couldn’t they just make spekkoek?”

  3. I love stoopwaffel and I thought this was a 2/10…. I took 3 bites and threw the loaf out… there was no caramel?!? Which is odd bc that’s what stroopwafel is… came out very dry with no taste… would never buy again

  4. In case people come to this post like I did to check the review: I made this with browned butter (having the butter melted seemed like it would solve the dense and dry issues people were having) and 2 tbsp water+ 2 heaping tbsp milk (instead of 4 tbsp of just water). Instead of my 9×5 loaf Pan, I used an 8 inch circle pan and cooked for 30 min only (until toothpick is clean). I could have still used my loaf pan and cooked a similar amount of time. It wasn’t dry at all, the top had nice crunch, and it was pretty fluffy. My bf and I loved this!
