Trader Joe’s Spicy Porkless Plant-Based Snack Rinds Reviews

Spicy Porkless Plant-Based Snack Rinds: 6.5/10

🚨NEW ITEM🚨 Trader Joe’s has been cranking out the new vegan items and I’ve been excited to try them all! I’ve never had a vegan pork rind so I was extremely curious to see how these would taste. The texture was a little like a crunchy packing peanut mixed with a Cheeto and the seasoning reminded me a ton of the Synergistically seasoned popcorn (which I was not a fan of). These snack rinds are made with rice meal which is probably why the texture resembles a Cheeto and are dusted with a seasoning of yeast extract, white vinegar powder, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and habanero powder. They tasted a lot like BBQ, which is why I docked them a few points. Anything overly vinegar tasting like the Synergistically seasoned popcorn and these snack rinds is not my fav (though I prefer the snack rinds to the popcorn). I’ve been hearing that people do not think these are spicy, but I definitely think they have a medium spice level to them and definitely a meaty flavor. Each bag is $2.99.

Have you tried these yet? What did you think?

  1. You have to like flavor and pork rinds to really get these. They are 11/10 for me. They are delish and lower in sodium than I thought they would be. Not bland at all. I like that they don’t just taste like hot like those horrible hot cheetos. But they have flavor. Great job TJs. 👏

  2. i agree we your rating! i prefer my chicharon non plant based 🤣. it’s good, but yeah – they didn’t have to label plant based, pork less rinds as my expectation was high. Spicy snack rinds should suffice 😜
