Trader Joe’s Chicken Enchiladas Verde Reviews

Chicken Enchiladas Verde: 7.5/10

After reviewing the frozen enchiladas a while back (and not liking them), I got lots of recommendations for these enchiladas in the fresh, ready to eat section. I’d been craving enchiladas recently so decided to give these a shot. These enchiladas are filled with white chicken and topped with green chili, Monterey Jack and cotija cheese. I liked these enchiladas fine enough to finish one for dinner, but the chicken was slightly mushier than I would’ve liked. They were also sweeter than I expected and didn’t have any spice in my opinion. These were much better than the frozen enchiladas I reviewed a month or two ago, but not my first choice. They also fell apart a lot in the package before I cooked them! I enjoy the frozen tamales over these. It’s $6.99 for 4 servings. They are good in a pinch!

Have you tried these yet? What’s your favorite enchilada at TJs?

  1. I always take a pass on these because they just don’t look that good to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I would also choose the frozen tamales (green chile and cheese are my fave w/their salsa verde) over these.
