Chicken and Mushroom Pelmeni: 5/10
Pelmeni are dumplings of the Russian cuisine. These chicken and mushroom Pelmenis have a doughy dumpling casing and are filled with chicken, mushrooms, and lots of dill. I will say, I am not the biggest fan of dill and felt that there was way too much of it and it overpowered any other flavor in these dumplings. Also, the chicken had a spongy texture and was ground together with the other ingredients in a way which I did not enjoy. I wish the ingredients were more distinct and separated! I know this is one of those dishes I would’ve loved fresh and with less dill, but unfortunately I would not buy this frozen version again. I did love the dough dumpling case however. Each bag is $3.99.
Have you tried these yet? What did you think?
Actually these dumplings are not similar to the Russian ones at all 🤷♂️
Ooh disagree. These crisped a bit on the skillet and then with sour cream so good!
Doughy and tasteless. I also did not like 😕
Ya I agree 🤗
I’m Russian and I love Pelmeni. These do not taste anything like the Pelmeni I’ve grown up eating! I didn’t like the strong (but not yummy) dill flavor either and the chicken was a miss. Homemade pork version is easy and SO much better.
Mmmmmmmm almost close to real Russian ones, I’d rate it an 8 !!!!

I feel the exact same way about these. Spongy texture and too much dill. The spongy texture actually made me feel nauseated
Okay…. these are NOT good the first time you have them. If you try them a second and third time you’ll become addicted I promise
We spit these out. Literally could not even swallow one bite. They tasted like dill and mold. 🤢 Only thing I’ve ever had from tjs that I literally could not eat
Wish I liked them more 😮 they were ho-hum!
I sauté with butter and grate nutmeg over the top, came out so so good 🤤
Doesn’t taste good. I’m Russian and know good pelmeni)))
No Russian person would like those they are very bad
My husband was so excited for these and we barely made it through. I thought they tasted like lemon dish soap 😬
So good! My neighbors use to bring their homemade Pelmeni over. These taste very similar texture and all. They would melt butter, salt and pepper. Kind of a comfort food.
10/10 hubbies fav!!! I always buy like 3-5 Bags for East dinners because he’ll never say no to these 😍
I had to throw these out 🤮
@ashleybryantlawrence
So gross they made me sick lol
5??? More like 9/10
LIKE these a lot! serve with sauteed onions and butter
i tried these and i too wish the ingredients had been separated—i didn’t tate much dill tbh, but i sauteed with garlic, butter, and spinach and it was a great lunch! 8/10!
Ugh yeah these were disappointing..the filling had a really processed texture and not a good flavor.
