Trader Joe’s Tangy Turtles Reviews

Tangy Turtles: 5/10

🚨NEW ITEM🚨 When I hear “tangy” I think sour. I was so excited to see #traderjoes came out with a sour gummy because, even though I love the super sour Scandinavian Swimmers, I would not call them “sour”. Unfortunately, these tangy turtles are not sour either! The are coated in plain sugar so are very sweet as soon as you take a bite. The flavors were pretty good and tasted like lemon/lime, grape/cherry, and raspberry/orange and then the white base of each gummy is the same, sweet, plain gummy flavor. After the initial sweet taste, the “tangy” bitterness kicked in. The after taste is what I did not enjoy so much about these gummies. After each gummy I ate, my tongue tingled and felt almost numb. So strange! The texture is just like a peach ring and is more on the chewy and firm side. While these weren’t horrible to me, I would not consider them an incredible gummy that I would be excited to pick up again. Each bag is $1.99.

Have you tried these yet? What did you think?

  1. I actually love these. Definitely could do with more of a tang, it doesn’t say sour on the packet so there not meant to be sour! I enjoyed the texture of these and flavors were subtle but enough to distinguish flavors.
