Citrus Mousse Cakes: 6.5/10
🚨NEW ITEM🚨 I am a big fan of the delicious chocolate mousse #traderjoes comes out with almost every season, so when I saw these adorable citrus mousse cakes, I was so curious to see how they would compare! First off, they are absolutely beautiful looking and would be lovely served at a tea party or picnic. The lemon one was shaped like an adorable lemon with bright yellow icing and tasted verrrrry much like lemon. It was almost too sour for me. Inside the icing coating was a thick layer of lemon mousse and an equal layer of what tasted like a sponge cake. I wish the cake texture was more moist and that the mousse layer was not as sour. The orange flavor was better, but tasted more like vanilla than orange. I had to really concentrate on each bite to taste the orange. I would get these again if it were just the orange flavor, but something about the mousse in each cake was a little too oily. Each container of 6 cakes is $3.49.

I got these and tried the orange and was so disappointed by the flavor that tasted like nothing but sugar and the cake didn’t seem that fresh. Hopefully the lemon will be as tart as you said.
They kind of reminded me of Little Debbie cakes. They weren’t bad, but I wouldn’t get them again.

Just tried these. The lemon tasted like lemon squares which I love but wasn’t expecting. And the orange was just a sugar cube. I definitely think I would only buy these again to look cute 😝

Of all the TJ mousse cakes, these aren’t my favorite flavors. They aren’t bad, though. If you enjoy citrus flavors you might enjoy these.

I actually put these in the freezer before eating them and have only had the lemon one but freezing it made it delicious!
