Trader Joe’s Chocolate Mochi Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting Reviews

Chocolate Mochi Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting: 6.5/10

🚨NEW ITEM🚨 I had such high hopes for this brand new Chocolate Peanut Butter Mochi Cake because I LOVED the original #traderjoes Mochi Cake. This new one was honestly a bit of a let down. The chocolate cake itself was lacking that delicious, chewy texture I loved so much from the original Mochi Cake. It was slightly chewy, but not nearly chewy enough. The flavor basically tasted like a bland brownie and could’ve used more chocolate. The frosting was also oddly salty and extremely sweet at the same time. I didn’t absolutely dislike this cake and frosting as a whole, I just felt like it could’ve been way better! A lot of you have said you made it into waffles and liked it better then the cake. Each box is $4.49.

Have you tried it yet? What did you think?

  2. I made a mistake and put the frosting in the mix ( my kids were helping and I wasnt paying attention) so had to whip up my own frosting. I think that actually made it taste really good. Everyone loved it

  3. I just tried it and we loved it! On the TJ website they also add cocoa powder and semi-sweet chocolate chips! I’m going to try that next!
I may make my own frosting for the top! I think you could make a lot of things with the cake alone! I can’t wait to zhuzh it up!
