Cheddar Cheese with Scotch Bonnet Chili and Red Peppers: 6/10
🚨NEW🚨 I thought I was going to absolutely love this brand new cheddar cheese, but it was honestly not my favorite. The cheddar itself was sharp while still being creamy and was a nice base cheese. I enjoyed the cheddar part of it! However, the scotch bonnet chilies were relished and far too sweet for my taste. I was expecting heat because scotch bonnet chilies are spicy, but the sweetness was too overpowering and I didn’t get much spice at all. This cheese tasted slightly like very sweet pimento. I would enjoy this much more melted on top of a soft pretzel or on a burger, but this is not a cheese I would buy again as a stand alone cheese on a board. It is $8.99/lb.

Totally tastes like cream cheese and pepper jelly. Not bad just not as expected. Your new cookbook arrived yesterday! So excited for cooler weather to try that French onion soup! ❤️❤️❤️

Have you done the asiago with rosemary and olive oil yet? That is one of my favs.
It tasted like roasted peppers to me, not spicy but I still enjoyed it!
I have tried all the cheeses at TJs so I will probably pick this up, always go back to my favorite, Brie😍

it’s good in grilled cheese but agree wouldn’t buy as a stand alone for a cheese board or with crackers. need to try the carmelized onion cheese!
Agreed. We tried it tonight. Not a big fan. We ended up making a queso out of it and drizzled on top of nachos. That was good.
I get that scotch bonnet is probably too hot for most on its own, but the first ingredient in the purée is sugar 😭 like come onnnn I wanted this to be more like a hotter pepper jack!
I was excited for this cheese because it sounded like Cabot’s Habanero Cheddar, which is a favorite. I would have been disappointed. Thanks for the review.

I picked this up because I saw it in your haul and it is weirdly sweet. So bizarre. I was expecting full on savory with some heat and pepperiness. Was sorely disappointed. 😢

Wish I would have read your review before purchasing. Same. So sweet and not even spicy. It went in the trash and we don’t throw cheese away in our cheese loving house!
This was too sweet for my liking. I was imagining it would be cheddary & spicy, not sweet & more sweet. Yuk.
