Corn & Cheese Arepas: 7/10
🚨NEW ITEM🚨 Arepas are a traditional street food in Colombia and other South American countries. These corn and cheese arepas are two corn cakes sandwiched with a thick slice of mozzarella in the middle. The ingredients are very good and are corn, corn flour, mozzarella, and a little sugar and salt. So simple! The taste of the corn cakes tasted very similar to a corn tortilla but with the slight sweetness from the sugar and the texture was between corn bread and a pancake. The mozzarella was delicious but I found that it didn’t stay melty for long after taking it off the pan and the corn cakes were a little dry. These are definitely best eaten fresh off the stove and I can see why they are a popular street food. These would jump up significantly in score for me paired with some fresh pico de Gallo and black beans. Each box comes with two arepas for $3.29.
Did you grow up eating these? What do you like to pair them with?
Also arepas are from Venezuela 🇻🇪

Real arepas are super easy to make! You just need the pan flour and mix it with water and salt. I make mine in the air fryer to make them crispy and then I love to fill with ham, cheese, and butter 😍
So good! I defrosted for 30 mins, instead of using the micro as it has a tendency to make things dry. Then spread a little butter on each side prior to pan frying. 👏👏👏🤤
