Vegetable Bird’s Nest: 8.5/10
These Vegetable Bird’s Nests came highly recommended by so many of you all and I’m so glad I finally picked them up to try! This delicious appetizer is kale, onion, and carrots shaped in a birds nest and fried in a batter. The tempura is deliciously crunchy and slightly sweet, but I recommend cooking these a few minutes longer than the package instructs to avoid a slightly mushy center. The tempura vegetables themselves were delicious but could use a touch more seasoning. However, the dipping sauce was such a nice inclusion to this box! The sauce provided was a sweet soy sauce and honestly I hope #traderjoes sells it in its own bottle one day because it’s spectacular and really bumps these vegetable bird’s nests up in score! Each box is $3.29.
Have you tried these yet? What did you think?
Love these!
These are amazing! And that sauce…!
I wish they would make one with shrimp to compete with the Tiger Thai version. I’ve only found them in Canada 😔 Costco US doesn’t carry it
Going to grab these today!
Love these
I love these! 😋
One of my faves!!
Next time, airfry them 😍
Kakiage! I wish TJ’s would call it what it is… let’s normalize this? 😄😄😄
These are great in the air fryer – that’s the only way I’ll cook them! 10/10
Loved these!!! Perfect when craving something salty. I also cooked them longer. I like them to be a little more crispy/crunchy and brown on the edges! I agree, 8.5 or 9/10!
Soo good! Taste like a healthier onion ring
@elliecam33 you love these right?!
yo is that a fly in your dipping sauce
Love them hot from the oven and crunchy!🙌
Definitely my favorite
Faves at our house!
@cassidyb12193 this is what I was telling you about today
@sav_alley interesting ^
@ariella_kristine these are our fave!!! Cook until super crispy! Lol I’m just going to tag you in all my favorite Trader Joe’s things from now on 😂
I liked them a lot! I’m with you on selling the sauce- I would definitely buy it!
Remember years ago when Trader Joe’s made a 2nd item that included other tempura veggies with the birds nests? I wish they would bring those back, they were way better than just the nests alone. The nests are awesome, but too greasy to sit & eat the whole thing.
@patrickfitzgerald2
Love these and the sauce, delicious!
I didn’t know that.
